Nine Reasons to own a dog
- Orlic
1. Dogs only understand loving and being loved.
2. Dogs have no interest in 401k, financial meltdown, the desire to acquire more in the absence of any need for it.
3. When you want to take some exercise, go for a walk, a dog will almost never say it is too tired, can’t be bothered, it will be ready and willing to go with you.
4. Dogs are loyal and faithful.
5. Dogs perfectly understand the guru principle, with you are their guru (master) and them as the disciples. they also have a better hamsa chakra than humans (which gives them excellent discretion – they will know immediately which humans are worth avoiding, and you will know by observing them)
6. Dogs live in the present, in the here and now. They have no thoughts of the past, or of tomorrow. “It’s here and now boys”If you watch your dog carefully, it will teach you too.
7. Dogs will increase your understanding and appreciation of the natural world, hence your own innate connection to it and thence your spirituality.
8. Your dog will be your best friend, always compassionate and sympatheric to your moods.
9. There’ll always be a warm welcome when you come home and your dog will settle down with you when you meditate or pray.
A few tips:
Double the pleasure, get two dogs, dogs are pack animals, unlike us. But begin with one, and when he/she is established and you can manage it, then get a second.
Don’t waste your money on pure bred trouble. All dogs are nice, no doubt, all dogs have nice personalities if they are well brought up. But get your dogs from the dog pound. There are many tens of thousands of dogs put down every year because the pounds can’t find homes for them. A mutt will be a total individual, healthy, intelligent and strong, not susceptible to many of the bred in diseases that pedigree dogs now have. And she will love you just as much. She doesn’t know she’s a mutt, and she won’t care that you are too.
