I feel that it hurt and helps the industry in many ways. Personally in earlier jazz I find no problem i n free downloads because most jazz musician sold their royalties for an upfront price therefore you’re only hurting the record companies that took advantage of these musicians. In modern jazz I feel it is important to buy music because in jazz for some musicians it’s a struggle to put food on the table therefore these musicians need every penny.
